If only these walls could talk.

A 1971 waterfront home on Dyes Inlet — designed by an architect who spent 15 years alongside Frank Lloyd Wright, written about in the Bremerton Sun as "a unique waterfront home that invites the outside inside." Stone fireplace built from Columbia River basalt. Driftwood gathered on boat trips to Blake Island pressed into the mantle. A catwalk that bridges the levels like something out of a dream.

The walls have stories. I'm still learning them.

I found this place nearly a decade ago. Run-down. Overlooked. My mom said it was too much work. My dad — an artist — saw what I saw. I bought it anyway. Spent the next several years restoring it room by room while raising my kids inside it, hanging my dad's original paintings on every wall, and trying every day to honor the intention that went into this house.

When my kids grew up and left, I didn't sell it. I opened the door.

The neighbor who welcomed me when I first moved in was a man named Frank. He'd tell me grand stories about the property — who built it, what it meant, what this stretch of Dyes Inlet used to be. My kids used to jump off Frank and Beverly's dock next door. Frank's cottage is now mine too.

So that is the story of Black Pearl Getaways.

Not a rental portfolio. A compound built one chapter at a time on a piece of Kitsap waterfront that has always been worth paying attention to. Twenty minutes from the Seattle ferry. An hour from Olympic National Park. The best basecamp on Puget Sound — and somehow still a secret. With 25+ years of executive leadership in technology and operations, I bring structure and discipline to every property I touch. But that's not why guests come back. They come back because every home in this portfolio is personally known, every stay is personally managed, and every detail is the kind that someone who actually cares about the place would notice.Every day I feel the weight of what was built here — and the responsibility to get it right.Intentionally small. Locally rooted. Always hands-on.
